Experiencing a Master Plant Diet with a Gigantic, Glorious Tree

Anyone who walks into a forest is immediately taken by the energy of those majestic, magnificent trees. There is no doubt that these beings hold power and wisdom, but how does this come through when we enter the sacred marriage of a master plant dieta with them? Grab your hiking gear, and let’s go see what some of these extraordinary beings have to share with us.

What Trees Offer Humans: Grounding and Protection

Considering that a tree’s roots dive at least as deeply into the ground as they grow above it, sometimes double that amount, it’s not surprising that trees can teach us about grounding. When you think of grounding meditations, we often visualize ourselves having a root that goes down to the center of the earth. While tree roots do not go nearly that far (at least physically), they do hold largely hold the earth’s crust together and those roots are strong enough to keep the tree held upwards. Being merged with that energy of deep rootedness can bring up ancestral work, a deep connection to the earth herself, and feelings of being incredibly centered and strong.

This same rootedness is a part of how I have felt the protection of the trees. They are so bound with the earth and all of her beings and are guardians of the earth and forest. The protect the land, the air, and the water. Without the protection of the trees there would be no life, and they will quickly remind us that we are a part of nature as well and that they are here to protect us as well. However, on dieta with trees I have also had this turned into a reminder that we must also protect them as well.

How Trees Connect Us with Earth and Spirit

As we have seen, the trees are deeply connected to the earth and all of her beings and spirits through their incredibly deep and powerful roots. Trees also grow tall and reach towards the heavens, so they connect us to spirit as well. This amazing ability to connect us with above and below at the same time is a phenomenal feeling. They can hold you in that center, realizing you are the pillar between these worlds, and that in this world of duality we have the ability to remember the unity within us.

Tree Wisdom: Interconnectedness of All Things

The deep awareness of unity is an integral part of tree wisdom, and it carries with it the understanding of the importance of every part of the web of life. Trees are home to a wide variety of animals, birds, insects, lichen, fungi, and other kingdoms of life, holding them each safely and with love in their branches. They also communicate with each other through the fungal network within the soil, and not only to each other, but also to other plants and creatures. No one is left out in tree society, even after death. The stumps of dead or dying trees are still fed long after the tree has fallen. Trees do not forget.

Gifts of Life and Death: Lessons from Cypress on the Eternal Cycle

The continued care of their ancestors and fallen loved ones long after they have died is also a reflection of how trees understand what you might call Long Time. They can share with us the recognition that life and death are not dualities but a unity which we usually only see part of at once. In reality, there is life and death happening even within our own bodies in every moment, and there are always parts of us that are living, dying, dead, or being reborn. I have to laugh remembering my dieta with Cypress when one day he told me that life was a gift which felt light and sweet. Then, the next day, he said that death was also a gift, and that one was a bit harder to swallow, but it also came with a series of revelations about how we view this continuum and all of the parts within it that I will forever be thankful to him for. He deeply helped me to release a lot of the fear I had around death. Cypress is known to guide others through the transitions in life - he is a master in this.

Magicians in Soul Retrieval and Wholeness

Due to their understanding of this continuum of not only life and death but also of space and time, trees are magicians of soul retrieval. They are so massively expansive that when working with this energy, there is no part of ourselves that cannot be retrieved and loved. Nothing that is turned away. Nothing that is lost. They can guide us back to our wholeness in a way that is almost unfathomable. While most trees have this capacity to some extent or another, my personal favorite plant ally in this realm is Oak. His branches stretch far and wide and his roots stretch outward as well as down. He has been supporting humanity for a tremendously long time, and he willingly and lovingly holds us as we call back all the pieces of us that have been discarded, pushed away in shame or fear, and to find wholeness in ourselves by loving it all. He is truly an example for all of us of the strength, resilience, and compassion that it takes to be in complete unity and love.

While I truly love all plants and beings of the natural world, there is something truly special about the trees and the place that they hold in this realm. Without them, there is no life, and they can also guide us to remember the depths and importance of our own lives.

If you’re looking to deeply connect with a wise, loving, and grounding tree, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I guide master plant dietas with trees and many other plant allies. It would be an honor to work with you!
