Week 1: The Trickster: He lives in the in between spaces and travels through boundaries
Introduction to the Trickster. The guardian of the doorway
Trickster and the Inner Self:
Exploring the internal contradictions that the Trickster represents: the conflicting desires, drives, and values within us. He asks us: who are you under your mask?
How Trickster helps us reconcile internal conflicts by forcing us to embrace the complexity of our psyche.
Exercises for reflecting on your own inner Trickster
Trickster and the Outer World:
The Trickster’s role in society: breaking social norms, questioning authority, and challenging established rules of behavior. Who are the modern tricksters?
Exploring how the Trickster embodies cultural rebellion, asking questions like: What happens when we break society's rules around behavior and identity?
What happens when trickster is not on your side and your rules come under question or even mockery?
Trickster in Ayahuasca, Psilocybin Mushrooms, and other Ceremonies:
Ingesting plant medicines like ayahuasca and psilocybin open the doorway to sacred realms
How do we recognize trickster when he shows up in a plant medicine ceremony especially when most of us have no context for trickster energy.
He is guardian of both resistance and surrender. What does it feel like to resist plant medicine? What does it feel like to surrender to it?
How do we respond in a plant ceremony when encountering something profane or dirty or “bad”. Can we explore trickster in these situations
Why trickster energy is often dismissed in sacred contexts and how it can actually deepen spiritual experiences by revealing hidden truths.

The Trickster as an Agent of Chaos that Brings Order. Sharing trickster stories from different cultures: Exu, Loki, the Merry Pranksters

How does Trickster break the internal structures that keep us locked into our roles? How do we resist him and fight him, and what does it feel like to surrender into his medicine and accept the parts of us that are difficult to see?
The necessity of chaos as old internal systems break down and before new ones are formed
The Trickster is a force that challenges rigid, fixed identities and opens us to the fluidity of self.
Trickster and the Outer World:
How do cultural and societal systems become stagnant, and how does Trickster’s chaos bring about renewal?
How do we embrace the discomfort of social chaos?
How can we collectively invite Trickster chaos into communities to challenge what is no longer working?

Trickster as the agent of sacred chaos in ceremonies: What happens inside of us when chaos erupts in a ceremony? What is he teaching? How do we integrate his teaching?
How far into the chaos or unknown do you want to go? How much can your nervous system handle?
How can we navigate the need for ritual and ceremony in a plant medicine ceremony along with the expression of chaos?
Week 3: Trickster’s Humor and the Power of Play
Trickster and the Inner Self:
The healing power of humor: How the Trickster uses absurdity to disarm our rigid thought patterns and open the door to new ways of thinking and being. What’s one thing you can make fun of yourself about?
Embracing the Trickster's playful, mischievous nature as a means of breaking free from the seriousness of life.
Trickster and the Outer World:
The power of humor in society: How the Trickster’s playfulness can subvert authority and challenge rigid systems of control.
Examples of Trickster humor in social change movements and cultural revolutions.
How can we use humor to break down barriers, foster connection, and challenge social norms?
What are the rules around making fun of other people in the outside world? Does this need to change?
Trickster in Plant Medicine Ceremony:
Integrating humor and absurdity into plant medicine ceremonies: How these elements can break the tension of “serious” spiritual practices and open the space for deeper transformation.
The Trickster as a facilitator of spiritual breakthroughs through laughter, play, and irreverence.
When does humor and irreverence go “too far?”
Examples of humor used in various cross-cultural rituals
Week 4: The Trickster’s Non-duality: Neither Good Nor Bad
This is the week where you’ll really question everything!
Trickster and the Inner Self:
Exploring how we (generally) construct our identity based on a desire to be seen as a good person based on society’s determination of what a good person is. This means we suppress the parts of us that don’t fit into society’s rules.
How do we explore our light and dark, good and bad, desire and restraint?
How the Trickster shows us that growth happens in the in-between spaces, where opposites coexist.
Trickster and the Outer World:
The Trickster’s challenge to society’s binary thinking: exposing the limitations of seeing the world in terms of opposites (right vs. wrong, us vs. them).
How Trickster energy invites us to question cultural narratives that divide and polarize.
Who is your enemy in the outer world? Can you see your reflection in them?
How can Trickster energy help heal societal divides and encourage a more integrated approach to social change?
Trickster in Plant Medicine Ceremonies:
Are ayahuasca, psilocybin and other plant medicines “good?” What makes them good? If they are good why can people get away with using them inappropriately or with bad intent (i.e. sorcery)
The Trickster’s invitation to explore paradox in plant medicine ceremonies: How embracing both the light and dark aspects of ourselves leads to true spiritual growth.
Week 5: Trickster as Revealer of Hidden Truths
The Trickster tells the Truth and facilitates Shadow Work

The Trickster as a mirror for our hidden selves, revealing repressed desires, fears, and contradictions.
How the Trickster uses humor and absurdity to show us uncomfortable truths about ourselves. Failing that, he shoves our face in it!

The Trickster’s role in revealing the hidden dynamics of society: power structures, injustices, and overlooked truths.
The Trickster’s ability to expose what is “unspeakable” in a way that invites chaos, but also potential change.

How do we interpret messages we receive in plant ceremonies? To understand messages we have to understand the contextual world we bring in to the message. The message is interpreted through that world, so before we interpret the message we have to understand ourselves
Trickster’s role in exposing hypocrisy (including our own!) within plant medicine ceremonies
Trickster as an agent of integrity. How do we work with trickster to encourage honesty and integrity within plant medicine circles we are a part of? How do we encourage both facilitators and participants to be in integrity?
Week 6: Integrating the Trickster for Personal and Cultural Renewal
The challenge of integrating trickster into daily life
Trickster and the Inner Self:
Embracing the Trickster as a constant presence in our internal world, nudging us toward growth through disruption, humor, and chaos.
How to keep a sustained relationship with Trickster to resolve internal conflicts, explore non duality, and break free from stagnation.
Trickster and the Outer World:
How we can bring the Trickster’s disruptive power into society to challenge oppressive systems and create new cultural narratives?
No one likes to be challenged or mocked, This creates a problem! Unless we as a society can be more adaptable and resilient regarding trickster energy.
